New Delhi: A complete of 35 bids for 103 coal mines had been obtained by the coal ministry on Tuesday for the seventh spherical of economic auctions, launched in November final 12 months.
Tuesday was the final date for submission of technical bids for these rounds.
On 29 March, the federal government had launched the seventh spherical of economic coal auctions to spice up the provision of dry gas within the nation. A complete of 103 coal mines had been placed on the block and of the entire mines supplied, nearly all of blocks are partially explored.
A complete of 35 offline bids have been obtained for 18 coal mines, whereas two or extra bids have been obtained for seven mines, it added. On-line bids obtained as a part of the public sale course of will probably be opened on 28 June.
The Centre had amended the mineral legal guidelines to open up the coal sector to offer a level-playing discipline to private and non-private sector companies and to allow the public sale of coal mines with none restriction on finish use. Coal from these mines will be utilised in the direction of personal consumption, sale or another functions.
