NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam commissions first photo voltaic rooftop mission at IIT Jodhpur

New Delhi: NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Restricted (NVVN), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC, has commissioned its first rooftop photo voltaic photovoltaic mission at IIT Jodhpur, Rajasthan, the ministry of energy stated in an announcement on Friday.

The 1 MW grid related photo voltaic mission has been carried out by the NVVN beneath the RESCO mannequin with Energy Buy Settlement length of 25 years, it added.

“Underneath the RESCO mannequin for implementing rooftop photo voltaic set up, a renewable vitality service firm (“RESCO“), (i.e., an vitality service firm that gives vitality to customers from renewable vitality sources), designs, builds, funds and operates your complete solar energy plant (roof or ground-mounted), shopper pays the developer towards assured month-to-month unit era per kW and DISCOM adjusts generated models in shopper’s electrical energy invoice,” the ministry stated.

The mission is about up on the roofs of 14 buildings contained in the campus of the IIT. It would generate round 14.9 lakhs models each year and can meet 15% of electrical energy requirement of IIT Jodhpur.

The rooftop mission will scale back 1,060 tonnes of carbon emissions per 12 months, it added.
