Chipmaker Intel Corp stated on Tuesday it has discontinued manufacturing of its bitcoin mining chip collection, only a yr after its introduction.

Intel expects to cease taking orders for the collection, known as Blockscale, by October 20 this yr and finish delivery by April 20 subsequent yr, in line with a doc on the corporate’s web site.
“As we prioritize our investments in IDM 2.0, now we have end-of-lifed the Intel Blockscale 1000 Collection ASIC whereas we proceed to help our Blockscale clients,” an organization spokesperson stated.

Argo Blockchain, Block Inc, Hive Blockchain Applied sciences and GRIID Infrastructure had been Intel’s first clients for the chips.
